My weekend went from good to horrible in seconds.
I went to Edwards No.8 with the intention of having a great time which untill one o clock in the morning I was. I went to the cloakroom to get my jacket (The Harley Davidson jacket that belonged to me Dad) and was told to get out. I was puzzled then I heard the fire alarms racing and so went outside and met up with Steve everyone else where we could see the smoke coming out in waves from an upstairs window. Police and Fire Services blocked off the whole area so I reckoned "I'm not getting my stuff tonight" so I went home.
This morning I found out Eddies was destroyed in a full on blaze ! Thankfully as far as I know no one was hurt but damn, Eddies is gone !The best Rock and Metal joint in Brum has burnt to the ground. Aswell as my Dad's jacket, the only thing of his I have left. I know it's better to have been the jacket than me, but still that jacket was one of the most prized posessions I ever had and to hear its gone up in flames is not the most pleasing of thoughts.
I think I can say that I was at the last ever night of Edwards, as I cannot see the thing coming back anytime soon. Rather apt the way it went though, like a Viking Funeral Pyre. A proper Heavy Metal death if ever there was one !
Thanks to the staff for getting us all out in one piece and time for me to sign off and lick my wounds and reasess the value of things in life, like life itself.
Not too shabby. I quit the Zone because it almost broke my spirit, and I wasn't having that. I'm now doing temporary work as a data entry clerk for the NHS. it's dull, but the hours are flexible, I get to listen to music, the people are nice and Amanda's not there.
Bte, you got Guitar Hero yet?? GH2 is out Nov 24th - comes with a red Gibson SG and includes the song Freebird!
I'm surprised they aren't on there, to be honest...
Having a squiz at your recent journal entries, I see a clip of the D's POD... Have you picked up the album yet? If not, do so - the song Beelzeboss is awesome! I'm going to see Tenacious D in December - can't wait! :D
I better be hitting the hay.
